Abstract
The aim of this paper is to review the career of Bonaventura Ubach, founder of the Biblical Museum of Montserrat. The work of Ubach on the Hebrew Bible promoted the development of Biblical studies in Catalonia. But his main legacy was the outstanding collection of objects related to the Bible that were the origin of the Biblical Museum of Montserrat. Ubach’s desire to illustrate the Bible took him to travel around the Near East again and again in search for objects that could serve that purpose.
