Abstract

The goal of this essay is to document and analyze the trajectory of Augusto Boal, one of the greatest Brazilian theatrologists, and it will examine one specific period of his life: the exile in Portugal. This research unfolds his relationship with theoppressive governments, with many geographic shifts he has lived and his motivations to do theater. The analysis focuses mainly on those Works developed in Portugal and, in consequence, on his legacy to the Portuguese theater.
