Abstract

This special edition publishes the best papers submitted to the 2019 Counter-Image International Conference, held in Lisbon, published after a rigorous process of peer reviews. Conceived by members of the Observatory on Visual Studies and Media Archeology (EVAM), from the ICNOVA/FCSH research center, the conference focused on investigations into critical images based on readings from the most diverse areas of knowledge, such as: history, communication, arts, literature, psychoanalysis, psychology, philosophy, cinema and architecture.
