An encounter between Maria Isabel Barreno’s essay "A Morte da Mãe" and sports, an engine of women's emancipation. Women are present in, but they have been invisibilized, discouraged by others or by themselves. This absence, as apparent as it is real, in the face of a patriarchal hegemony, is presented here as an assemblage of text and images, taken with a cellphone. The excerpts of Maria Isabel Barreno's writing and speech systematize, not only my status as a football observer, but also, as suggested in Barreno’s essay title, reorganize the loss of a family member.
