Abstract

During his lifetime, Fernando Pessoa had some projects of remarkable longevity: one of them, with striking editorial evidence, would result in the Book of Disquiet; the other, of a less public but no less decisive destiny, that of the translation of some of Shakespeare’s major works. This essay seeks to establish the possible relationship between these two persistent plans.
