In discussing the title of Fernando Pessoa’s poem “Autopsychography”, this paper traces some of the most significant Portuguese studies between the 1940s and 1990s that dedicated lines or pages to the analysis of the poem. The main contributions considered are from Adolfo Casais Monteiro, Joel Serrão, Jorge de Sena, Jacinto do Prado Coelho, João Gaspar Simões, Eduardo Lourenço, José Gil, Américo Lindeza and Rosa Sil Monteiro. Taking into account several texts, this article intends to present new lines of reading of the title “Autopsychography”, crossing it with the three stanzas of the poem by Pessoa.
