Author Biography
Vincenzo Russo is Associate Professor of Portuguese and Brazilian Literature and African Literatures of Portuguese Language at the University of Milan, where he coordinates the António Lobo Antunes Chair (Camões Institute). His most recent volumes include: A Resistência Continua. O Colonialismo Português, as Lutas de Libertação e os Intelectuais Italianos (Afrontamento, 2022); with Roberto Vecchi, A Literatura Portuguesa. Modos de Ler (Glaciar, 2022). He is a translator of Portuguese, Brazilian and African authors. Together with Roberto Vecchi, he co-ordinates two editorial collections: the Pensiero Atlantico collection, published by Editora Meltemi, which has published Italian editions of Eduardo Lourenço, Luandino Vieira, Miguel Cardina and António Sérgio, and the Tesi/Antitesi collection of dissertations by Italian researchers in Portuguese-language literature. In 2023, together with Miguel Cardina and Elisa Alberani, he organised the exhibition at the Aljube Museum and the book Revoluções. Guiné-Bissau, Angola e Portugal (1969 –1974), with photographs by Italian reporter Uliano Lucas.
